Dr. Clark discusses Corvid 19

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

I went to a political meeting where a doctor discusses his concerns on how corvid 19 was being handled. Any misinformation of my notes is the fault of the note taker.

– I’m very frustrated about what I’ve seen in the medial on cv19. Tried to talk to the health dept. and sent a letter to the governor no one will respond.
– Q: you observations of the Hydroxychloroquine drug?
– The government has had gotten involved with the medial industry. They are doing the same thing for covid19.
– 1970 debate on dr. what causes death Sugar or cloistral. Harvard professor was bribed by the sugar industry. 10 yrs. ago looked at the data > not look at it again. Sugar was the cause. Today huge bureaucracy has objectives and a lot of politics. Keep in mind just because they have a position in med they are not experts. They don’t treat patients.
– Most viruses such as corvid will follow an infection curve. If there is nothing to stop infections eventually, it hits herd immunity and it’ll go away. Organizations have gone beyond lower transmission they want to wipe it out.
– The same number of the high curve or low curve will be infected
– Our immune systems vary from person to person. Younger strong because of the T cell. If you inhale a virus, the body recognizes it as a foreign body. B cell the virus comes in the body recognize it produces antibodies to destroy. Get vaccine gives you b ell immunity.
– Samwell % under 45 gets sick from Corvid 19. Most people 85+ or 65 who have risk factors.
– Steps to be healthy eating, exercise lose weight is how to keep your immunities up. Content against diabetes usually avoid cv19
– 2017 influenza virus 50-80 % success.
– Did things in Jan and Feb put sick people back into nursing homes?
– Things have been used to control the population through history.
1. Faith> and religion. Get ahold of religion is a way to control.
2. Food controls.
3. Fear
4. Education: if kids are not taught correct principles.
– What happened with the epidemic?
– Everyone was nervous.
– How do we go from red to yellow?
– Decided to not restrict people. Got emails from out of county and state asking what you doing?
– Went to. Understand there is an executive order, decided did not adopt it
– Yellow status: most state of emergency is because the area has gone beyond a support system. Utah County did a state of energy and the government gave 101 million in the bank acct.

Interview with Tracey Wes

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

These are notes from a webinar hosted by WriteForKids. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

– How can you write over 100 books?
– I have been doing it for a long time.
– It is her main vocation.
– Writes in different genera and different publishers.
– She made her deadlines
– Q: do you have a system? How to approach your work?
– For every book, have sysot0is. Do a chapter outline and book outline.
– First draft, second, third, depends on the editors
– Most of it is working every day. Schedule out tasks. Keep lists and schedules
– Now starting to get requests from editors to do base on properties material.
– After working for a long time, knowing editors, and having a good reputation have people ask me to write things.
– Chapter books: young and older what is the difference?
– Branches series is crated by Katie Corella. Branches range between early readers and chapter books. They have short chapters, easy vocabulary, easy text, exciting easy to decode. Need to have attributed speakers for every dialog. Use the easier word to decode. You can present complex ideas but make sure the idea needs to be explained. Do not take young readers for granted and they want complicated plots.
– Older readers not over 6K. They are more complex. For a four-book, series had a major story arc and have the villain introduced later.
– Q: subplots in chapter books
– Very rarely have a subplot. Older books there can be subplots.
– Q: Do you have to know what type of book will be written chapters book or middle grade. 10 yr. old is about 10K words.
– Q: tropes in fantasy: like wizards and magical animal
– Q: Plot in series do you come up with the overall concept first and then induvial plots.
– Pitch: this is where characters begin or end. Share with the editor, this is where the story could go as an alternative. Give them a choice. And additional ideas on how it could continue. Think beyond your first book. Want elements that will intrigue the reader.
– Q: idea on cupcake club:
– Barnes and Nobile asked the different publishers to come us with the concept of cupcakes.
– Middle grade> girls want to read about girls older than them.
– Q: when publishers send a concept> author still needs to do a proposal. Most publishers are happy for you to present your own ideas and how characters will behave. It’s like people giving you a story starter.
– Q: How work in a shared universe with other authors? Do you need to have the same voice? Consistent tone. Read the other books to match
– Q: In series, book two needs to share some of the ideas. Readers like the story arcs. You need to be very specific of what has happened in the past. Need to be seamless and organic to the story.
– Q: does each book of a series need its own standalone plot? Yes and then a few overall arches throughout the books
– Q: cliffhangers: will plot out the cliffhangers before writing the book. In middle grade, you still need to make the reader to want to continue to read. A cliffhanger might be that the character does not know what to do. It does not have to be super dramatic. In chapter books the hangers at end of each chapter.
– A favorite is the imamate danger cliffhanger. Decision cliffhangers are what will I do if xx consequence or do yyy will happen.
– Some cliffhangers a character may be dramatic like my life is over or I will never talk to her again.
– Interview middle graders and ask questions like what makes them laugh or be scared.
– Q: plan story arch? Chapter books you need to present the problem in the first chapter.
– Q: parts for a story arch?
– Start to think about what the end game is. Then see what will happen in the four books. You need to think how in the beginning of a story a wizard attacks with glowing balls and in the book wizards for an attack a castle on a dragon. See when the progression happens.
– What kind of problems will occur to get to that end?
– Has a key problem in each book.
– Book packager > does all the same work as a publisher for hire and then the publisher put their brand on it.
– Q: What is your workday like to have written over 300 books? Spend the morning is on publishing business. Social media and answering letters and reaching out to editors and emails. Afternoon write. Often it’s 7 days a week.
– Q: Have you notice publisher schedules being altered due to pandemic? Some titles were put on hold. Challenge is getting books into the hands of people when bookstores closed. Everyone is reading online. No book signings and book conferences.
– Q: How to find children, beta readers? She doesn’t.
– Q: Find middle school kids to talk to and ask questions? That is part of the presenting process. She visits neighbors’ kids. Try to avoid slang. If your waving to your friend > what do you say? What do you say to a friend that it is a nice shirt? Ask very specific questions. She does a lot of emogies on texting. Kids do a lot of texting.
– Q: how to learn the current school does a lot of interviews. Writers reach out to other authors or
– kitlit411. Find teachers.
– Q: how to present a series? She does not have an agent. Write for license properties that you are passionate about. You have to love the characters and be willing to watch hours of it. When pitch to an editor has let them know, you know about it. Less than 75% of license material is based on the existing products. Stick to characters, dialog, and other guidelines.

Education

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

I am not sure if this was a church talk or from a workshop provided by the church in overcoming addiction.

– Is the implication to be part of our Heavenly Father and to be like him.
– We need to maintain our enthusiasm for learning throughout our lives. This included spiritual learning by studying the words of the prophets. This will help us find the answers to the challenges of life and invite the spirit of the Holy Ghost.
– The truly educated man never ceases to learn. Get all the education they can.
– President Monson: Our outcome is up to us.
– Elder Hale: you want to fly right.
– Mary Cook: Be a good student and seek learning by faith. When we have an education, we can act and not be acted upon. We can use our education to help others.

Trust in the Lord.

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

These are notes from church talks provided bu two return missionaries, the Daily twins. I put them under the same title. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

– Prover 3:5-6 listed trust in the Lord with all thy heart.
– This message became very personal to me on my mission.
– The church was established on the earth so that God children can have peace and fulfill covenants. We can learn how to return to God.
– President Nelson” I have faith in the lord and his servants. I have learned when revelations are received from leaders to put an exclamation mark (!) and not a question mark (?)
– What warnings from church leaders we take with a ! mark, not a question mark.
– When you have faith in Jesus Christ, you trust him. You keep his commandments thought you may not understand them.
– To trust in the Lord to keep His commandments. We need to develop and nurture our faith in Jesus Christ. How can we do that? Pray sincerely, repentance, and reading and studying the Book of Mormon individually and as a family. Partake the sacrament every week.
– When he followed three steps, he’s learned to trust in God.
– When living in times of shifting values this is an important tie to our belief in Christ.
– Alma: 29:6
– On his mission, he learned to love the culture and the people. He loved fellow missionaries. Learned to see and love people in the same way as Christ sees them.
– Being away from family help me realize their value.
– We do missionary work to unite the family of God.
– One teacher worked and concentrated on the three acts. Focus on prayer, daily study of the Book of Mormon, and church attendance. The missionary began to see a change in her countenance.
– Satan does not have power, but we give him power by how we make choices.
– Alma: 37:6 small and simple things
– On his mission, he became more converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
– Focus on the small and simple things. The world will always attack the truth. Trust is found in the scriptures. I found the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Second talk:
– 3 Nephi 13; 31-33 take no thought of what we shall eat… see ye first the kingdom of God.
– When put the kingdom of God things came easier to me.
– Everyone can be successful in loving the gospel.
– Member devoted his life to the gospel and he received blessings.
– Serving a mission is not about you.
– When we put the kingdom of God, we fade out.
– Elder Urdof: said that Elder Faust told him: People will always phrase you be grateful for it but don’t inhale it. Heavenly Father is in charge.
– He keeps in contact with people in Japan and can teach the gospel remotely.
– My desire to learn about the Savior, I learned to desire to become like the savior.

Opinion on Proposition 9 by Commissioner Lee

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

I attended a meeting hosted by Commissioner Bill Lee and Steve White Precinct chair. They had concerns about the passage of Prop 9. Prop 9 is intended to change Utah County Governed from three full-time commissioners to one Mayor and five part-time commissioners. Any misinformation on these notes is the fault of the note taker. These notes are a mix of Bill and Steve’s comments. I formatted the text for like subjects. This is a submission to caucus corner.

– New York times: effects of corvid besides the disease. Hunger and world hunger.
‘Instead of Coronavirus, the Hunger Will Kill Us.’ A Global Food Crisis Looms.

– The state assigned title 9.
– It will be on the ballot for considerations for the voters to decide.
These are the reasons people want Prop 9 to pass:
– Pros say it will cost less. Analysis numbers were not completed. Proposal ‘says’ less.
– Pros want a separation of powers.

Lee: Steve and I are opposed to this for multiple reasons.
– Acceptances will eventually increase costs and an expansion of government. (SLC could be an example). The natural course of government steers toward dictatorship.
– Any changes to small towns always have a firm that checks the financial impact. They also try to anticipate what will occur in the future. We don’t have any financial check for proposition 9. There was no independent of salary or building analysis were done on prop 9.
– Opponents of Prop 9 are greatly concerned of the financial costs.
– One commissioner regrets putting prop 9 on ballet.
– Our biggest concern is the cost of mayor function versus county function
– Pro says it will cost less. The analysis of finances was not completed. Proposal ‘says’ less. After one sworn in, the mayor can put into motion to open the budget. They can move money to fulfill positions they need as support staff. Because five commissioners are part-time, they need to hire people. Since they may work during the day, they may not attend all-day meetings. They receive filtered info of meetings from someone else.
– What is the largest population in Salt Lake City is the incorporated area of SLC. So the county has to do water etc. Salt Lake has $14 million commissioner costs, while the UT County budget is just over $1 million. Salt Lak has only double the population than UT incorporated.
– Government officials will see something as an emergency and move funds from the dept. they think that is not as important to areas they think is important.
– Salt Lake with a new form of government grew by 9.9% UT County stayed equal to its population.

Salt Lake and comparisons:
– 20 yrs. go Salt Lake switched from commission to ab amea counsel form. It resulted in massive bloat of government expansion
– Article: Beware of county mayors bearing deputies by Laurie Stringham.
– During the last few years 2-3 legislative cycles. Push from Weber County to change the process to change the form of government. He wanted a way for the county to change government quicker. As his bill was losing traction a rep from UT County wanted to modify the bill that would target UT County. Since UT County has a 500K population.
– Repremandom began to circulate for signatures. A lot of feedback from the failed bill is people don’t want to grow government.
– Two of three commissioners voted to have it put on ballet and without a completed study of costs.
– The government set the condition that unincorporated areas cannot be larger than 5.5-acre parcels.
– If a developer wants to develop land in an unincorporated, they have to access resources from a city.
– Commissioners have no control over cities.
– About 9K residents are in the Utah unincorporated area.
– Salt Lake has six deputy mayors. They have supporting staff.
– Utah Lake is owned by the state.

Details of Prop 9:
– Proposed changes would normally come out as a printed document in ballets. Due to cost, there will only be a web link.
– Proposition 9 will have a mayor and five part-time council members. Hire a dept. mayor and each council may have part-time secretaries. Currently, Utah County has three full-time council members.
– New path will separate powers between federal levels. Utah County will have five-part members. Their salary 20K they will have to get another part-time ob. More work on the executive side than the legislative side.
– Five commissioners will be broken up in regions. They are assigned to certain areas of the county.
– Currently, the county citizens vote for all three full-time commissioners. You are responsible for 100% of the vote. When we vote you can only vote for one of the five. You vote for the one that is your area. You have 20% voting rights.
– They are consolidating power into the mayor spot. You will no longer have two of three representatives to counter one commissioner’s bad decisions.
– The three commissioners do not discuss issues outside the meetings. By law, they can’t give the appearance of coordination. Can’t appear to lockstep on a shared decision.
– For cities and towns, the first line of representation is the mayor, city, and counsel.
– The biggest county in the US is in California. They have about 12 million resides (I think) They only have five paid commissioners.
– 50% of the county budget is the sheriff’s dept. All three commissioners over the sheriff.
Responses to those wanting the change:
– Pro wants separation of powers. As soon a budget is passed, once the money is divided up the commissions have no control of the budget.
– Prop 9 will have five commissioners vote for and divided by area. But when the vote is by 20”% vote, bands will form to influence those in favor of Prop 9 want a mayor to have dictatorial powers. Mayer becomes three in the power of commissioners. One mayor and two commissioners can do what they want.

Other Stuff:
– Some politicians will get themselves on 30 boards many of which may not be related to their own assigned duties. Some may use their current position to move up to a higher level. Other politicians are on six boards that are relevant to their curry title.
– Good possibility for this to be celibacy politics where people are voted because of their name rather than policy.

Revision Simple Story Tests

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

These are notes from a Life, the Universe, and Everything symposium panel. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

Q: are the entire characters default white male.
– Not all of your characters don’t have to be white.
– It’s unreasonable that all your characters would be white.
– There are roles where gender is important. They mas cast a tone to the story
– Some will flip half of their characters to a different gender.
– Your book should pass basic gender biases for each gender. Meridian clients then compare to the culture or a Norse culture. It should fit the demographics of the place where your culture exists.
– Their biases in our world don’t have to exist in the world you’re creating. They will have their own set of biases influenced by their culture. You don’t have to have someone beautiful.
– Biases get created from the cultures where they grew up. Don’t lean on the ones we have here. Design them on the culture of that world.
– Make traits relevant to your book like eye color in Brandon Sanderson’s books.
– Videos tropes versus women in video games. Check out YouTube.
Q: When you get a manuscript back. What test do you run mentally?
– The first draft put away for a month to give you the distance. Can’t see the forest for the trees. As you read it to see issues. Does my characters arch go all the way through the end of the book? If not are the characters needed. Does it have foreshadowing?
– Use the beat sheet in the book, save the cat. Do I have the conditions pointed out to save the cat? You can fix thin in revision.
– In your first draft, you put in a lot of work and struggle. You feel you are done. You’ve raised some sticks in the ground look sound. Now the wood is there and you have to put up the foundation enough for all the walls. Does it have a foundation? Can it handle structure pressure?
– Mileage does vary on these tests.
– Read it out loud test. Unique dialog on a per-character basis. If you can make dialog nature change so it sounds like real dialog
– Pull out the garbage words that doesn’t change the meaning. See what can cut such as: very, likes, just. Remove the word and see that it’s not missed.
Q: Audience members asked are strong males no longer desired by publishers?
– Have a strong plot that is unique. It has not yet changed in the real number of strong females.
– When someone designed a person of colors authors feel they can’t give that character a fault. Give people of color faults.
– How do you add other people and cultures that are not you like race or LGBT? If growing up with a theme is essential to the plot you need to review how you are qualified to write on that culture s if that is a main importance of the plot.
– The difference between adding a character as part of the group is handled by having the main character. Do not use check out website writing with color.
Q: How to handle multiple voices of characters and make voices distinct?
– Have that person read your book. Have rep of that culture read the book.
– Each character will look at the world in a unique way.
– Your new scenes need to be very clear you have changed to a new character. Listen to see how people talk. Each person has different speech patterns. Some characters will use big sentences or small sentences or use fall instead of dropped. If a character is easy going that you will see them like that.
– Producers and Hollywood will require a scene by scene synopsis.
– They also look for a logline that describes the book.
Preferred outline:
– What kind of story is it? Hero journey, growth book each have different expectations from the audience.
– You need a clue every two minutes in a story.
– You know about your story but does the audience now it. They need to know.
– Some authors will do a fake interview that can help embellish the character. He also does visualization of his word. Create 20 interesting places that exist in your world that your character may visit. You need to have different places to visit. After that, he will start plotting.
– When can an outline be bad? About halfway through the book, you will see that certain thing has gone astray. The authors may have to outline the novel again to incorporate the change. Some authors will plot a book 1 rd of the book.
Resources to go for outlining:
– Google can provide answers
– Everything needs structure. When you write certain genera it needs to fit what the reader expects. Maybe
– Get a book that is in your genera and plot out that book.
Writing other Cultures?
– Test 1: Bechtel test: to women talking but not about a man.
– Sexy lamp: woman necessary code.
– Anti-freeze: test
– Strength is a relative test.
– Book: million dollar outlines by Dave Wolverton.
– Many people use snowflakes plot. Where you visualize a scene. And see what other scenes is attached to it. Many people will use the hero’s journey. Its ok to use the hero journey as long as it comes out naturally and not forced.
– The onionskin plot. Layers of circles. As a character discovers something and keeps going through new discoveries. This is good for mysteries
– Some people create stories on an emotional level. Give the reader an emotional ride.
– What is driving your story? It comes down to where you are coming from?
– Flash fiction or short story may not require an outline.
– A story may not have an inciting incident and in the third try fail cycle. You don’t have to show everything.
Q: how do you intermix different plotlines that run simultaneously?
– Will create a group of characters in one chapter and have another group of characters as secondary characters in that chapter. And whole different chapter when the other groups are characters is prominently featured.
– Try fail cycle builds up in each attempt to fix and things get worse and the problem gets b bigger. You can broaden the problem. You fall in love with girl and you meet her mother. If murder mystery someone has been killed not found any clues then someone else is killed and that death provides additional clues and tension. You can deepen the problem. A character finds out he becomes far more emotional.
– How do you outlining pacing?
– Some authors will write a book and then documents the plot outline after to find weak areas.
– The goal to outline is to get the action down. Keep dialog and visual details. Narrate what they say.
– You can put the details of your world in detail in a separate file.

Leading During a Crisis Part B

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

The presenter at our Toastmaster’s meeting is Illens Dort is a renowned author and speaker.
Much of his content is influence by John Maxwell. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker. He was raised in Haiti. He loves the United States sees it as my adopted mother country.

A crisis is an intense time of difficulty. The other definition by the medial field says the crisis is a turning point.
1. A crisis is not unusual. They are not something that never happened before such as the crisis of 1918-1920
2. A crisis is very distracting.
– Keep us on track. You need to create tractions.
– Keep people focused and keep them on the track.
– A crisis reveals what is inside of us.
– Crisis does not make a leader. Choices are what makes the leader. A leader is inside of someone. Squeeze a lemon you get lemon juice from inside of you.
3. There are leaders and pretenders.
– During a challenge, some players happy to sit on the sidelines. Other players say give me the ball.
4. Crises make us adaptable.
– When a crisis happens to you, it is major. When it happens to others is minor.
– Don’t let the things you don’t have or can’t do keep you from doing the things you can do or the things you have.
– We think of the things we don’t have we fail to focus our energy.
5. A crisis is a time for true leaders to show up.
– How many business leaders give you a short cut of 50% of work? Compare that with a business that will give you all.
Q: How to do charity if no money.
The resources are all around us natural resources and human resources. Found people who were passionate like me.
Q: What does a leader do when you have made a mistake? Take responsibility. You will gain the confidence and trust of the people. Your team can see it and smell it but you display integrity you will regain trust. Admit the mistake the earlier the better. Then share you will do x, y z to solve.
Q: He has a book with gratitude statements. What quote to address our multiple crises?
All problems have a solution. We need to know how to get to the solutions .work with the things we know and what is available to us. We need to acknowledge a higher resource (god). Life is about people. Be a leader that will lead passion and compassion. Love to find someone who can help with a problem and compensate them for their help.

Quote offered by a member of TM: you can’t take a duck from eagle school.

Sermon on the mount

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

Sermon of the mount:

I don’t recall if this was from a church talk or a fireside. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker. Here’s the link: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205-7&version=KJV

– Mark twain: There are two types of speakers: those who are scared and those who are liars.
– Book: the 100, a ranking of history’s most influential persons of history. Christ is listed as third. List him because people don’t follow his teachings.
– Sermon on the Mount: we need a lasting commitment to the server of the mount.
– To say we are servants of God we would need to study the Sermon of the mount.
– Ezertaf Beson: Each of us would do well to periodically review the sermon of the munt.
– Why does this sermon stand out? It became a named semen when St. Augustine attached a title.
– This account is the longest of all of Christ’s sermons.
– Contest and settings. Matthew sets the stage that is the dispensations, line in the same between the old and new testaments.
– The savior symbolically ascended a mountain and delivers the new law and covenant to Israel. This new law is not about the worldly kingdom and pursues. It is about the kingdom of heaven.
– The sermon is the requirements of the kingdom of heaven.
– It discusses what we do for ourselves and for others.
– Christ emphasizes the importance of doing.
– There is not a single word in the mount of belief it is about what to do. Do is listed at least one time.
– As members of the restored church we know and have so much more we have than anyone else in the world. We have joseph smith translations and the sermon at the temple in the book of Mormon.
– 112 verses 4 verses are revised by his translations. 76 % has clarify verses.
– The Book of Mormon account adds additional doctrine. Some felt it was geared to prepare the saints to prepare for the temple.
– Both sermons refer to alters. Both versions admonish us to keep some things holy.
– All of our prayers and fasting should be done in secret.
– The entrance to the kingdom of heaven is through a narrow opening.
– Discuss obedience, sacrifice, and the law of the gospel. I.e.: Love, Chasity, etc.
– We learn what God would have us do to return to the kingdom of heaven.
– The sermon is covenants to live by.
– May we periodically6 review the teachings to be familiar with his way.
– CS Lewis said: if caring for means to liking and enjoying. Who can like being knockdown on his face by a sledgehammer? Who
– Dietrich Von Hofer: human speakers it can interpret the sermon of mount a thousand ways. Christ has one way.
– Pray for them that despitefully use you. Do good and pray for those who are not easy to love. One person said this is a good description of motherhood.
– What is our desire? Lay not up yourself treasures on earth that moth corrupt
– Consider the place you invest time and money. Se the treasurers you are accumulating be transferrable to the next life.
– We do not live the sermon of the mount because it is easy. Most of what Christ asks us he wants to be done in secret. Do the most good in this life and no one knows about it.
– We are to be a salt of the earth.
– Go the second mile when it is one is uncomfortable and inconvenient.
– Turn the other cheek when it will not necessarily bring justice.
– Christ was a perfect example of these most profound sermons.
– Harodle bleed: Christ gave us an example of his own life.
– After the sermon Christ healed a leper and told him, tell no man.
– 39 miracles recorded in the gospel. How mammy do you think went unrecorded? How many happened that were not recorded. Most of us are oblivious to how much and how often Jesus gave and forgave and how he loves and blesses and does good and praise for us. Even when there are times when we are hard to love.
– We may look in lives and see with heaven’s hindsight how Christ has blessed us.
