  • Fisherman will use a lure called a Man tige:  they use it to capture occupies. The occipus will grab the lure and not let go until it dies.  They will capture the occipus and toss it into the boat.
  • Social media can be used for good or bad.

  • We need to pass on what we know to those who follow us.

  • Do not be Mormon enough to be miserable.
  • The Lord looks into the heart.
  • Each of us take individuals actions to influence others.
  • Why is the pattern of wickedness repeated? The nature of man is to wander without guidance. We may stop seeking direction. Satan uses our weakness to tempt us.  We often go back to where we feel comfortable.
  • Do not depend upon relying upon great leaders like Moses or Joshua. We need our own testimonies.

Each of the 300 was given a horn and lantern of coals.  The 300 blew the trumpets and tossed the coals on the ground giving the enemy the impression of an enormous army. The enemy is a mix of nations and stabbed each other.

Breaking down Mental Health

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

My company has different workshops to help employees. These are the notes of one. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

Signs up burnout and stress:

  • Stress can be healthy burn out is when you cross the line. Burn out can cause depression.
  • Stress is illustrated by over management or urgency. Burn out gives disengagement or unmotivated.
  • When you want to disconnect it is advisable to seek out help. Theory is to playing an active role in your own mind. Is important to understand you.
  • When you start to disengage > you need to give yourself permission to give 50% or 70% on different days. 100% is not a sustainable model. Give yourself permission to slide back a little back.
  • You never know what people are going through. Sometimes, you can see your environment with new eyes. There was a slump in performance in the dept. opened a dialog to see what was contributing to the problem.
  • Your employer may have ’employee assistance programs’ that can offer help.
  • You need to fill up your cup first before you can help others. using PTO or other resources to help support you.

Strategies for facing challenges:

  • There is strength in vulnerability but don’t use it as an excuse to not perform. Make sure you are having conversations with your manager to be aware of challenges.
  • Bend so you don’t break. Stretch physically. Get on the move and stretch with yourself.
  • Make time to work, make time to play, make time to learn. Schedule time for each.
  • Ask for permission of yourself. Find out when a deadline is really set it’s not all immediately.
  • You need to be intentional about your mental health. You need to create intentional process.
  • Set up a good environment for your mental health.
  • One presenter makes time to mediate or listen to podcasts. Learn new lessons to help you learn of your new self.
  • Exercise and play.
  • As a manager, she tries to create positive emotional moments with her team.
  • You may want to redefine success. Not just at work but at family, and community.
  • Keep the communication going in regards to yourself, your circle, and your manager if needed.
  • When you have, concerns do not keep in the shadows. Seek help. Be kind to yourself.

Spelling Hassle

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

bad:   Hassel

good: Hassle

I consistently spell this word wrong. I put el rather than le. I believe I have a way to remember the l next to the s. I envision the l as an i and when I experience hassles i/l want to be close to my supporters who are the letters ss.

  • Editing funnel: this is when you do the big edits first such as plot, digitization, and pacing and then you do the detailed edits at the ends such as grammar, line editing, and punctuation.
  • Structural editing:
  • This involves plot, pacing, and characterization.
  • See if the stories that follow a clear plot.
  • C with the subplots fall.
  • Self-editing: then edited to do big edits. Make changes on the big issues and that fix them then devote time to the small issues.
  • Hire an editor for the self-edits.

Galley:

  • A Galley is a PDF of the entire book. The Galley is provided to the author does find any things that were missed in prior edits. The Galley is the last site of the book before goes to print.
  • Next line alpha and beta readers:
  • Alpha and beta readers can help you catch things. Alpha readers or for the main plot catches.

  • Sensory editors. Backspace: have the task of going to the manuscript and seeking out areas that need sensory details. This is more than just visual sensory details.
  • When do you know when to stop editing?
  • On the first draft, you need To turn off your internal editor. In the early drafts of the manuscript is better than the cleaned it five dishes than none at all. Just get your first draft out. Some will set a timer where they can only write without stopping.
