The evening begins with a BYOP (bring your own picnic) pre-party with Stillhouse Road bluegrass music. We’re taking names for storytellers – if you have a story to tell and would like to get on stage, please contact Victoria through the Coyote Tales website.
Prepare a 5 minute story about customs, heritage or birthright. Think:  Folklore, wisdom or ritual passed from generation to generation. 
Tell us YOUR story about connection to ancestry or times past.

Were you there? Are you the main character? Your involvement in the events as they unfold is essential.

Meeting Etiquette

My company is featuring more training videos and this one was on meeting etiquette. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

  • Limit the number of video calls.
  • A phone call or email may be effective.
  • On each meeting, make sure there is a purpose and an agenda.
  • Send out the agenda should be in advance.
  • State the purpose of the meeting as you start it.
  • Follow the agenda throughout the meeting.
  • Prioritize participants under the moto less is more.
  • Meet in odd numbers to make decision.
  • The less people involved in making decisions or attending a meeting the more effective it is.
  • Consider shorter meetings 15-20 min
  • Be mindful of time zones.

Four golden rules:

  • Be on time you cascade downline punctuality or lack thereof.
  • Be present. Resist the temptation to multi task such as with phones.
  • Be inclusive. Look for body language. See who has checked out of the meeting. See who might want to comment.
  • Summarize at the end of your meeting. Summarize take ways, actions items, and follow up.
  • Have some element of fun during your meetings.

  • Following Christ can bring us peace.
  • Women like social medial because it gives us a change of connection.
  • How can we use social medial for good?
  • Positive quotes ad memes.
  • Some do quotes and inspiring stories.
  • Some will delete a post that is negative.
  • Some like being part of groups or sites that share a common interest such as home schooling or parenting.
  • Don’t post or share links that are negative
  • Choose what you want to read.
  • If you like a post, more of that type will be directed to your view.
  • If you don’t like a post. Use the three dotes (…) on the top right that will give you an options to delete it.
  • Some will start or fill their day with scriptures or positive audio books for their entertainment
  • The reason the church has early seminary is to get the youth into the mindset early in the day.
  • Peacemakers are willing to extinguish all the fiery darts of the adversary.
  • One team would come home from school stressed. She would spend some time doing indexing for a period of time and then come out of the room more at peace.
  • Don’t shrink from those that promote hate. Remain strong.
  • When you get angry, you give your control to someone else.
  • Keep a gratitude journal and pray often.
  • Some will begin their prayer with ten items of gratitude.
  • Seek and recognize the good things of the world.
  • Read conference talks, exercise and communicate with God throughout the day.
  • One will avoid all the food that does not agree with her;.
  • Peacemakers are not passive they are persuasive in the Savior’s way.
  • How to be a peacemaker
  • Moral agency
  • Share genuine love of our neighbors
  • Can boundary line exist without being battle lines
  • If you get a negative post, don’t respond in a negative way.
  • One member has an anti-church father. Her husband and father were constantly fighting. As a peacemaker, she suggest they don’t touch on church and the relationship improved. the father and son relationship became prominent.
  • For someone you disagree with, find something that you share in common.
  • Respect someone else free agency. We are not responsible to change them. We are responsible for sharing the gospel
  • There are those who want to poke you to get a reaction. When you are on the defensive, try to see where they are coming from and share love. Show empathy for that person. Act like Christ would act.
  • If you are upset at someone. Write an email or letter. Do not put the name in the contact box. Vent to your hearts content and then delete it.

Writing a Successful Query Letters for Magazines

Come up with an idea

Write up the query letter.

If they like the idea, they’ll send an email and sign the contract.

Then you write the article. (Only a personal essay I written before submitting.

Letter:

  • Salutation> correct spelling of editor and correct pronoun.
  • Good hook and lead paragraph (send to a specific editor) if you’ve met the editor, mention that.
  • Establish a connection. Have an engage opening sentence. Catch attention (editors are busy people.

Example of hooks:

  • Johnathan Clark has everything a seventh-year old boy cold want–except a beating heart.
  • By the year 2023, seven out of ten college students will have a sex diesel.

Article contents

Bad hook:

  • Mary smith is a 10-year old girl in Sayville, NY > so what? Change to cont. she has a skill most adults wish they had.
  • Everyone want to know how to better communicate with his or her spouse>

Format: what your proposal. Is this for a specific department?  Share key points of the article.  Is it a feature article, is it round up (best 10 water parks in the country)

  • What will the reader get from the article?
  • Why you: editing experience, explain why you are the perfect person for this article. Work off the strengths you have. Do you have a degree on the topic you are pitching?
  • Put in a call to actins like I look forward to hearing from you or ask are you interested.
  • Then close with your name. Include a handwrite (screen shot) signature.
  • Use a professional email.
  • Do not put headers on top of the letter, nor add your contact info at the top

Visualization Meditation

  • Sit up nice and tall.
  • Gently rest your hands on top of your lap.
  • If your mind is busy, turn your face down to ground your energy
  • If you are feeling tired then put you palms up in order to receive more energy.
  • First, let go of any heaviness or anxieties you feel
  • Rub your palms together to generate a lot of heat and healing energy between your hands.
  • Lift your palms p and hover them over the third eye area.
  • Feel the warmth of your energy penetrating into your brain.
  • Keep your mind in, in the center of your brain
  • With your eyes closed, you’re going to slowly open your mind’s eyes and visualize our day ahead. Not so much on what we’ll do, but how we will show up the quality to be the best version of ourselves.
  • Is the quality at our heart’s center peace, joy, compassion, courage, confidence, understanding, forgiveness? Whatever it is, feel it grow larger and larger as a light shining out brighter and brighter, infusing every cell of your body. So that everyone waking into your universe can feel that light. Visualize them reflecting your light back at you.
  • With a gentle smile on your face, breath in and breath out, letting go of any last remnants of heaviness.
  • Feel the calm and peace in your body, heart and mind carry this energy the whole day.

  • We need to renew our baptismal convenient by taking the sacrament each week.
  • We have the spirit to be with us.
  • If you will enter in, by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will reveal all that we must do.
  • As we receive the Holy Ghost, it will teach us and show us what we can do to receive more joy in life.
  • There is the tale where six blink men came to examine an elephant. They each gave descriptions and trough from their experience. Here are truth we need to learn so we can teach and testify to our children.

  • Eternal truth do not change our understanding. Truth may change as we experience change. Your eternal truth are the key to our salvation
  • We need to read, study and ponder the words of the Maroni. Remember that god loves each of us. If you question any parts of the proclamation, talk to heavenly father about your concerns. Discuss your own shortcomings. Ask him to help you understand the things that are true. Ask him for love and patience .God knows what our family look like. You can get his help.
  • Three are many on the earth who are blinded by the subtleties lies of man.
