Here are some notes on a great panel at Life the Universe and Everything SF/F symposium. The topic is on keeping our mind open to new ideas.
- Get adequate sleep.
- Sometimes being stuck away from your tools of writing, gives you opportunity to plot
- When you stuck on writing pushed through and keep writing. You may think that a particular scene is terrible, but actually when you go back. You’ll find out who is actually okay. If it isn’t a good scene you can always edit it is always easy to edit something than to edit a blank page.
- Sometimes limited time can motivated you to write because you’re under a deadline.
- Taking a walk in nature is often a good opportunity to brainstorm.
