While I attended Life the Universe and Everything this year I took some great notes on a panel about recharging your batter while writing.
- Lookout motivational videos on YouTube and save your favorites and access them when you need it. Fine ones that work for you.
- Forcing yourself to write, even during the writers slump will help you get over the slump.
- Give yourself permission to walk away from your writing. If necessary, such as important points of life or marketing endeavors.
- Move scars make wonderful music for motivation.
- Reconnect with things that inspire you, such as movies or music that excite you.
- Create a playlist that can connect your mood to the type of fiction. Your writing. For example, romance music for romantic scenes or action music for action scenes, etc.
- smartphones are useful to be able to verbally write a story while doing some of the project.
- Some people use noise conceiving headphones to create a quiet space while the writing.
- Seeing people’s reactions to your fiction can be encouraging.
- When you’re creating a world in setting. Think of the character who would suffer the most.
- Writing comes down to your own personal discipline.
- What you tell yourself can become reality, good or bad.
- Always keep your mind open to inspiration from the world around you.
- Protect your writing space have it reserved only for writing.
- Have a routine that includes breaks so that you can recharge.
- Some research indicates that people work well in 90 minute increments, so maybe doing writing in that pattern may also help. New York Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/10/opinion/sunday/relax-youll-be-more-productive.html?_r=0
- create breaks seat into your mind and let me set do something different away from your writing.
- Maybe have two projects running simultaneously needed. Bake for one, you can go to the other.
- Interacting with the writing community, other authors can often encourage each other
- some authors will read some of the text of the previous day to get them going on new text for the current day.
