Much of the problem of spelling this word is because I mispronounce of the word. I keep outing in the R. One does not want to keep Returning to the table just because You have a large appetite. Thus avoid the R.

Another way, sometimes pets have a problem with over eating because of the abundance of food they have access to. They beg  and get fed. So apPETite.
