





This is from a panel I attend about a year ago from the LTUE symposium. Hope my notes will be of use.
- A good book will cross multiple ages.
- Boys do not want to read books that have girlish covers.
- Mini Harrison has an article about YA fiction.
- Tell an awesome story, no matter the gender
- boys want to be entertained.
- Boy books need to be a gateway to get boys to love reading again.
- Don’t limit yourself to and intended audience. Your audience maybe bigger then the target audience. Don’t limit yourself.
- Find out from writer’s market. The same type of books you write the cell be a good source of whose meant to
- turn boys: is when boys are acting like boys. Edward of twilight is an example.
- Boy books need stuff to happen, fast-paced.
- 60% of why a readers or adults.
- Watch navel gazing in boy books. They don’t like it don’t like a lot of self-reflection.
- Boy books. want tension, action and plot.
- Meet a lot of action all the way through the book. If not, action, then a scene of plotting action.
- Talk to your target audience and see how they think differently.
